A tricky bit of driving
Headed back to Grenoble today to have the rear window fitted finally. We were heading to a spot to park up for the night. Our route took us through a gorge on a very narrow, twisty road heading up to 1800 m when it started to snow-heavily. The road soon covered and the van soon started to slip on the incline, cars were also coming from the opposite direction. Eventually we could pull in and get the snow chains on but then had the problem of turning the van round on such a tight road so had no option but to continue for another few kilometers until the road widened. The road also included several small tunnels and overhangs. Ian did a brilliant job and saved the day for what turned out to be the scariest ride of our lives and one not to be repeated.
